The Five Han (5Han) of Gyeongbuk represent five core

elements of Korean traditional culture :

Hanbok, Hanji, Hanok, Hansik, and Hangeul

Hanbok embodies the Korean sense of beauty and dignity, characterized by elegant lines and natural colors.

Today, it is being reinterpreted with modern aesthetics, gaining global attention.

Hanji, made from the bark of the mulberry tree, is a durable and eco-friendly paper used

in various forms of art and craftsmanship.

Hanok reflects the philosophy of living in harmony with nature, where the structure itself

expresses balance between people and their environment.

Hansik represents a food culture based on harmony and balance, emphasizing

seasonal ingredients and fermentation that convey health and sincerity.

Lastly, Hangeul is the unique Korean writing system created by King Sejong,

praised worldwide for its simplicity, scientific design, and originality.

Together, these Five Han symbolize the enduring value of Gyeongbuk’s

heritage and the living identity of Korean culture that continues to thrive in the modern era.
